How it all started.
Backstory
As an avid PC builder and modding fan, I genuinely look forward to designing and crafting custom sleeved PC cables for new projects. In terms of aesthetics, they are arguably the most underrated component to a PC build, and I believe this has been due to the inability to find readily available information online, along with the design tools to start. Therefore, I set out to create a user-friendly resource for beginners, and enthusiasts, to feel comfortable approaching in order to research and design one's own custom sleeved PC cables, even if this merely results in someone playing around in the configurator for a few minutes.
Use cases
I built the growing collection of digital tools and resources with the intention to encourage individuals to craft their own PC cables for a new build, create a set for a client or friend, or even discuss the topic with like-minded individuals. Over time, as development continues, I hope to introduce new features and improve the experience for everyone involved.
Configurator
The custom sleeved PC cable configurator is the heart of the Cablefied project due to several unique features. These include real-world sleeving options, connector color choices, numerous comb colors, and over fifteen different cables. In addition, it is entirely possible to design your own cable set and link the configuration to a friend at the click of a button. Further, as a highly customizable tool, content will continuously be updated and changed to reflect modern design practices and market choices. If you have a feature request or color recommendation, please feel free to reach out.
Journal
Along with the configurator, I thought it would be helpful to introduce a collection of resources covering all things PC cables, power supplies, and other applicable information to the world of cable sleeving. This may include the individual components, sleeving choices, common questions, and anything else I consider valuable towards the subject. Individual resources may not come as frequently due to the extended time investment, but if you have any problematic touchpoints from your experience working with PC cables, I would be happy to look into addressing them.
How you can contribute
Cablefied is operated by a singular dev with a passion for custom PC cables. While primarily built during my free time, you can help grow the project's resources, pinouts, and configurator features. For example, the most impactful form of support is simply sharing Cablefied with your friends to gather feedback. In addition, you can send me a message with feature requests or other improvements for the future. This may include pinout details, new sleeving colors, or other cable styles you would like to see in the configurator.
