Cablefied is the catalyst for new cable projects

Backstory

As an avid PC builder and modding fan, I genuinely look forward to designing and crafting custom sleeved PC cables for new projects. In terms of aesthetics, one may argue that they are among the most underrated components of a PC build. I believe this has been due to the absence of relevant information and design tools online. Therefore, I set out to create a user-friendly tool for beginners and enthusiasts to feel comfortable approaching in order to design their own set of handcrafted custom sleeved PC cables.

Project intentions

I built the digital tools and resources with intentions of encouraging individuals to develop their own handcrafted PC cables for a new build, friend, or client. This also includes those who enjoy discussing the topic with like-minded individuals online. Over time, as development continues on the Cablefied project, I hope to introduce new features based on feedback, and improve the experience for everyone involved.

The configurator

The custom sleeved PC cable configurator is the heart of the Cablefied project due to several unique features. These include real-world sleeving options, connector color choices, numerous comb colors, and over fifteen different cable types. In addition, the configurator provides one-click sharing capabilities to discuss or review patterns with friends. Further, as a highly customizable tool, content will continuously be updated and changed to reflect modern design practices and available materials. If you have a feature request or color recommendation, you are always welcome to reach out and provide feedback.

Compatibility and pinouts

Hand and hand with custom PSU cables are pinouts. As a result, I felt that it would be important to display compatibility tables for power supplies to compliment the Cablefied configurator. All pinouts come from personal documentation when working with various brands and units over the years. However, while nearly all units are verified to be compatible, I can not label every single unit as verified. Nonetheless, it is important that these pinouts are used as references when making your own cables to double check, and not as the sole source of information. If you believe there is something incorrect, or you want to confirm that everything looks accurate, I would be happy to hear your feedback.

A journal

Along with the configurator, I thought it would be helpful to introduce a collection of resources covering all things PC cables, power supplies, and other applicable information relevant to Cablefied. This may include the individual components, sleeving choices, common questions, and anything else I consider valuable towards the subject. Individual resources may not come as frequently due to the extended time investment, but if you have any interesting or problematic touchpoints from your experience working with PC cables, I would be happy to look into addressing them.

Cablefied is operated by a singular dev with a passion for custom sleeved PC cables. While primarily built during my free time, you can help grow the project's configurator features, pinouts, and resources. For example, one of the most impactful forms of support is simply sharing Cablefied with your friends to gather feedback. In addition, you can send me a message with feature requests or other improvements for the future. This may include pinout details, new sleeving colors, or other cable styles you would like to see in the configurator.
