Get inspired with the new cable design generator
Ever been stuck trying to figure out the best pattern design or sleeving colors for your cables? With this update, Cablefied introduces a new resource to help individuals generate cable designs based on their preferred choices.
How it works
- Pick your favorite cable patterns
- Select your sleeving, comb, and connector colors
- Choose the ideal cables for your build
- Input the number of cable designs to generate
- Pick any cable to transfer directly into the configurator
This new resource was primarily designed and developed as a method for individuals to quickly ideate through the details before transfering to the configurator for further customization. There were many discussions regarding sleevers knowing what colors to use, but not knowing the pattern, or wanting a specific pattern, but being stuck on the ideal color sequence.
In hopes of addressing these dilemmas, and after considerable planning, the inspiration page has now transformed into an interactive resource for PC builders to easily acquire cable design inspiration.
Generate design inspirationNew PC case cable lengths initiative
Perhaps one of the most compelling, yet less publicized, questions within the PC building community, and custom cable sleeving industry, revolves around cable lengths.
Builders regularly ask others what lengths they use in order to make a more informed decision regarding their upcoming builds. Starting today, Cablefied is taking this concept head on with a new cable length initiative powered by the PC building community.
This has been a large project in the making for quite some time, and hopefully it is able to flourish as time moves forward and sufficient, accurate data is collected.
Core features
- Recommended cable lengths per case
- Individual row lengths for SFF cases with unique curves
- Grouping cable lengths by cable type
- Rankings with commonly paired power supplies
- Comparisons between stock cable lengths and the recommended lengths
As an ever-growing project, new cases and power supplies will regularly be added for contribution purposes. Fresh data will also help build a better dataset and improve the results. If you would like to see a case or power supply that is not currently present, you are always welcome to send in a message.
Nonetheless, if you would like to contribute your PC case, power supply, and crafted, or ordered, cable lengths to the initiative, Cablefied is now accepting submissions.

New remove confirmation and 12 pin FE connector
When removing individual cables or resetting all cables in the configurator, there is now a confirmation step to prevent accidental removals.
Nvidia 12VHPWR FE Edition
In addition to the 12VHPWR connector with two sense wires, and the 12V2X6 connector with four sense wires, it is now possible to customize cables with the original Nvidia 12VHPWR FE edition connector in the configurator.
New comb and paracord color additions
This update introduces the transparent cable comb to the configurator. In addition, fuchsia and several diamond paracord sleeving colors have been added to the collection.
Transparent comb
The transparent comb mimics most translucent options one can acquire when working with clear cable combs for their projects.
Paracord color additions
Along with fuchsia, numerous diamond patterns have been added to continue filling out the diamond sleeving choices. This update also introduces a few alternative diamond patterns with white and charcoal gray.
Reorder cables in the configurator
Previously, when a cable was added in the configurator, it was placed to the right of the existing cable. The only way to reorder the available cables was to remove a cable and place another to the right. This was troublesome if you had already designed one and did not want to remove it.
Now, it is possible to reorder your cables in the configurator by simply clicking the left or right arrow in the toggled options. This makes it easier to manage your current cable set without the hassle of removing and adding cables. The reordering is also built into the saving and sharing functionality, and is backwards compatible with previous releases.
A formal form
For individuals looking to provide feature requests, bug reports, or general feedback, there is now a form on the contact page for emails. This complements the Cablefied social media channels as another method to reach out with any inquiries.
Removed the configurator feedback form
With the introduction of the contact page's form, the configurator's feedback form is no longer required and has been removed.
Introducing the dashboard, presets, and supporter benefits
This significant update adds several new features to Cablefied, and introduces supporter benefits. While the Cablefied configurator, compatibility tables, and journal are always available for free for personal use, there is now a method to support my work torwards developing Cablefied, introducing new features, and maintaining server costs.
The dashboard
When registering an account and upgrading the plan, users unlock the ability to save up to 15 custom sleeved cable sets in the dashboard. With each set, you can provide a unique title, notes, and a crafting date to specify when it should be completed. In addition, compared to sharing cable sets online, all sets in the dashboard never expire.
The dashboard has been a highly requested feature from creators who use Cablefied as a business to craft custom sleeved PSU cables for their clients. As a result, they can now manage all of their orders in a single place.
The presets
Everyone can use some inspiration from time to time. As a result, the presets page functions as a growing collection of unique cable set patterns for users to quickly start their design process. This speeds up the amount of time one may need when beginning a new project for themselves or a client.
Supporter benefits
As a sign of gratitude for being a supporter, any user who inputs a username in their account will have their badge displayed when sharing a cable set online. This allows supporters, creators, and even businesses to showcase their unique creations with others, and provide a level of authenticity if they are working with clients.
In addition, supporters can share up to ten cables at once, up from the standard five, and all shared cable sets last up to fifteen days compared to the standard two days.
Wrapping up
This update required a significant amount of planning and development time to properly understand the exact needs of power users, creators, and businesses using Cablefied. As always, I look forward to seeing the newly created cable sets, and I appreciate every individual user that has supported the project and provided feedback thus far. Let's continue to grow the world of custom sleeved PC cables together!
New configurator colors
This update adds new paracord colors to fill out certain pattern groups. Some options include new neon yellow choices, black and gold diamonds, blue and green thin line patterns, and more.
A more personalized configurator
Previously, the configurator only allowed for one of each cable to be present at a time. This introduced scenarios where users would not have been able to compare two designs of the same cable type next to each other, like two 8 pin PCI-E cables. As a result, the configurator has been entirely rebuilt to accommodate a more personalized approach to designing your cable sets.
Add additional cables
Users can now add additional quantities of cables to their current set. Whether you need two 8 pin PCI-E cables for your GPU, or want to compare three different 24 pin ATX cable designs next to each other, it is now possible to add more than a singular type of cable per set.
Removing cables
Due to the nature of adding specific cables to the configurator, there is now an option to remove the cables you do not want. This clears the cable entirely and can not be undone. In addition, if you want a fresh start, a reset and remove all button has been added to fully reset all configuration options back to their default settings.
Updated configurator notifications
This minor update refactors the notification system built into the configurator. Now with a new interval stage, users must acknowledge the current status before proceeding. This provides a better user experience, with an emphasis on mobile, since the entire config panel may not have been present in the viewport when the notification occurred. It also offers greater modularity for future updates.
Option to provide anonymous feedback
In addition to the revamped notification system, users can now leave an anonymous message for feature requests, bug reports, or general feedback to help make the configurator a more enjoyable experience for everyone. Simply click the feedback button at the bottom of the configurator panel to open the form.
Flip connectors for curved cables
With this minor update, users now have the ability to flip the connectors on each cable. This is commonly required for individuals making extension cables with a curve. As a result, it is now possible to define cables with the clip on the inside, or outside, of the curve. You can find this new feature inside the connector tab next to the original black and white options.
Minor fixes to connector and comb styling
Styling on specific connectors and combs was not aligned with the remaining cables. Minor fixes were implemented for uniformity.
PET cable sleeving is now available
With the addition of PET cable sleeving in the Cablefied configurator, users can now design based on their preferences. This was a highly requested feature to compliment the paracord sleeving. As a result, updates to the design and naming structure may occur according to initial feedback.
Functionally, the PET options have been given their own tab in the configurator next to the paracord tab. They can be used alongside or separately from paracord when designing a cable set. The PET sleeving is also built into the standard sharing capabilities.
Examples of some of the first PET colors
PET cable sleeving is launching in the Cablefied configurator with over 30 colors. Both solid and striped options are available.
Introduction of the 12V2X6 cable
With the addition of the 12V2X6 cable, the Cablefied configurator now features both variants of the new standard for PCI-E cables.
Further improvements to summaries
Various fixes to properly account for cable types containing two cables combined in singular combs such as an 8+8 EPS cable. The newer 12VHPWR and 12V2X6 cables also had adjustments to more accurately determine the correct values.
New major feature: Summaries
The summary tab is another significant addition to the Cablefied configurator. This feature is an experimental release to help PC builders who craft their own cables. As you design and configure you own cable set in the configurator, the summary tab will automatically populate with an approximate overview of the materials necessary to craft your cables.
Various improvements are already planned for the summary tab, and some values may vary based on exact specifications of each PC build, but feedback is always welcome for new experimental features.
Key summary features
In the new summary tab, female and male terminals, female and male connectors, and counts for extensions compared to modular cables are listed when you assign categories to cables. In addition, a calculation of the amount of wire and sleeving, in both feet and meters, is displayed based on the lengths applied to each cable.
- Female & Male Terminals
- Female & Male Connectors
- Wire Lengths
- Sleeving Lengths
- Extension Cable Count
- Modular Cable Count
As always, the features in the summary tab are built right into the Cablefied configurator. Therefore, you can share your designs with others and refresh the page without resetting your cable set's information.
Overall site design refresh, edge-case fixes in the configurator, and browser related improvements.
The site refresh comes from a desire to improve aspects of the user experience based on initial feedback. The configurator should also feel more refined when adding and removing cables.
Two new orange colors
Both black & neon orange diamonds and stripes are now available in the Cablefied configurator.
Initial launch into beta. Over 30 colors and 15 plus cable types available in the configurator. Cable compatibility also launches with 6 different pinouts.
The official launch of Cablefied into beta. This initial release comes after significant design and development time to establish a functional baseline.
