Account status and deprecation notice
This notice comes as a result of recent efforts to make it easier to use, manage, and develop the Cablefied application and its features.
What exactly is this notice, and does it affect me?
Essentially, this notice is related to Cablefied removing all account functionalities. For example, this includes saving cable sets to your account, accessing the presets, and leaving direct feedback inside the account section.
Accounts may return in a different format in the future. However, at this time, the primary goal is to expand on the project's features without separating users.
Can I still access my information, or delete my account?
You can not directly log into your account and access your saved cable sets. However, you are more than welcome to send me a message regarding this information, as I can convert any available saved cable sets to a copied design URL for use in the configurator.
Regarding account information, I would be more than happy to immediately delete your account and any respective data tied to it. All information will be deleted over the coming months, but you can also send me a message with a request to promptly remove the content.
Will you be replacing the account features?
There are a lot of cool ideas at play here as a result of the account removals. For example, saving cable sets to your account provided a way to store custom designs over a longer period of time. However, with copied cable sets in the configurator now being extended, the account section has become quite impractical.
In addition, rather than limiting the preset cable sets to the account section, I will begin reviewing the implementation of a dedicated inspiration page for all users to access.
Many other features are also being explored internally. If you have any feedback regarding these changes, you can always leave a message in the new contact form.
Send a messageExtended expiration time
Copied cable sets in the configurator have now been extended to a minimum of one month to match the saved cable sets in the account section. This may also get extended to three months, six months, or longer, pending further testing.
Inspiration page
A new inspiration page concept is being explored to replace the preset cable sets in the account section. While still in the early phases, this would contain similar features to the presets, with additional options to simplify the experience.
General feedback
A new, open-to-all contact form has been added for anyone to provide feedback, new feature ideas, and bug reports. Every change is attempting to make the Cablefied application a better place for creators. Removing the accounts, and separation of features as a result, is just the start to building a better experience for everyone involved.
